1. Single File Upload Method
New "Single File Upload" Method for users who do not have or wish to install java on their machines. This method is feature limited, but provides extra compatibility. We still recommend using the "Multiple File Upload" method for the many benefits it offers: drag and drop, intergrity checks, automatic compression and resume capability. You can set which upload method you wish to use by default on the Preferences page (Tools > Preferences). The "Multiple File Upload" method (which is the method everyone is using thus far) remains the default unless you change it.
2. New Deliver Files Feature
You'll notice 2 things with 1.0.2; Lite Mode and Direct File Links have been removed. Why you ask? We essentially combined the best of both of these old features into the new "Deliver Files" feature. When you deliver file(s), you'll be able to select the desired recipients for the delivery (you can still send a delivery to a user without an account by simply entering their e-mail address), specify a subject and a message for the notification e-mail and even password protect the delivery. Recipients will receieve a simple e-mail letting them know that you have sent them files. They can click on the provided link and access your branded "Pick-Up" page where all the files you marked for delivery are availalble for download or preview (where available) for 7 days. In addition a new "Manage File Deliveries" option under the Tools menu provides you with complete delivery history.
Notes:
- Lite Mode user accounts have been automatically updated and are now normal "Regular User" accounts. For this reason, only new file deliveries sent to your clients will sport the simplified pick-up page interface. In other words, if an old Lite Mode user attempts to access your site by clicking on a link in an old notification e-mail, they will be first prompted to enter their e-mail address and password, and after logging in will access any files shared with them using the full TotoExpress interface.
- Even though the Direct File Link system has been removed, any links previously sent will still be active so that your clients can still download their files.
3. Changes to Public Upload Links
Renamed "Public Upload Links" to "Folder Drop Boxes". In addition, you can now select to receieve e-mail notification about files uploaded via a Folder Drop Box on a folder per folder basis. This option is now located on the Folder Properties page.
4. Remember me Checkbox
TotoExpress now includes the option of saving your e-mail address so that you don't have to enter it every time you visit your site. Just remember that cookies are required for this feature to work.
5. New Function Buttons
New "Function" buttons instead of the little round icons in List and Thumbnail views. We feel that they are much easier to use.
6. Customizable Subjects for Notification E-mails
You can now customize the subject for both the Automatic and Manual notification e-mails.
7. New File Type Icons
General Interface enhancements including all new file type icons.
